Nature Reserve

I examine tiny natural reserves amidst the city: The backyard, the park, the potted plant on the porch or at the office. These natural reserves create spaces of intermission from the city buzz, a green square for meetups, and a place where pets can find a bit of dirt to dig in or bury their excrement. These spaces can be observed as frozen states (delay, stillness), like a small death within the movement and yet, still allowing for a pause and reflection, a shelter from life’s aggressive movement.
